How can I print my receipt?
Select the print button on the website, which will open a new window.

I'm trying to log into my account and it tells me there is an error
Ensure that the webpage is fully loaded before trying to log in to your account.
Why is my Bill Me account showing an 'Unpaid' status?
This is a known error with our new Bill Me product that we are working on fixing as soon as possible.
In the meantime, please note that it is just an error in the account status display that you can ignore – your account is active and valid, and the status will be correct once you have received and paid your first bill.

How do I get a refund of my unused Pay & Go tolls online?

If you receive a message stating 'purchase could not be found', this will be because your Pay & Go toll purchase has expired, has already been refunded or the tolls have been used.
If you believe this is not the case, please call us on 0800 40 20 20 Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, or Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm for assistance.
How can I pay for my tolls?
You can set up an account and have all your tolls paid automatically or you can pay as you go.
You can pay you toll online, at selected service stations or by phone on 0800 40 20 20. The last two options incur transaction or services fees. It’s easy to pay online or, better still, set up an account.
What if I don’t want to pay a toll?
There are free alternatives routes for all toll roads, if you choose not to travel on a toll road.
How do I open an account?
Paying by account is the most convenient way to pay your toll and covers travel on all of the toll roads. There are three account options to choose from.

How is the toll collected?
The toll is collected through an electronic tolling system. This system uses cameras and sensors with optical character recognition technology to capture an image of a vehicle’s registration plate and assign the correct toll price, based on the size of the vehicle. Internationally, the trend of toll roads is to move to electronic collection.

How long do I have to pay my toll?
We ask you to pay your toll within five days of traveling on a toll road. road. However if you’ve traveled on any of our toll roads between 29 July and 14 August 2015, you have 19 days to pay, due to system issues.
If you don’t pay in this time, you may be sent a Toll Payment Notice for each unpaid toll. There is an administration fee of $4.90 per notice issued. Avoid the extra charge by paying your toll before or immediately after using a toll road.

There are three toll roads in New Zealand:
- Northern Gateway Toll Road, State Highway 1, Auckland
- Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road, State Highway 2, Tauranga
- Takitimu Drive Toll Road, State Highway 29, Tauranga
Where can I pay a Toll Payment Notice or an Infringement Notice with cash?
Unfortunately a cash payment option is not currently in place for notice payments. You can pay your Toll Payment Notices or Infringements Notice online using your debit/credit card or POLi.
How can I get a breakdown or reconciliation of tolls and toll payments for my account?
You can check your account online any time to see up-to-date balances and toll information. You are provided a monthly statement or invoice online (depending on account type) detailing tolls charges and any relevant payments.
Who can be the registered person of a vehicle?
The registered person of a vehicle can be a:
- private individual (15 years of age or older)
- limited liability company
- government department
- local authority or official board
- incorporated society club or trust.
Do my Pay & Go tolls expire?
Your Pay & Go tolls are valid for two years from the date of purchase. If you have purchased Pay & Go tolls and will not use them within two years, they can be refunded prior to expiry. You’ll need your registration plate and receipt number for your refund to be processed.
How can I get a breakdown or reconciliation of Pay & Go toll trips and payments for my registration plate?
The Pay & Go toll product is a casual product and the Transport Agency is unable to provide a full reconciliation service. If you have a tolling account you are able to view a reconciled breakdown of payments and tolls at any time and monthly in the form of a statement.

I’d like to direct credit toll payments instead of using POLi. Is this possible?
Due to the high number of transactions in and out of our bank account, we do not accept direct credit payments.
POLi (internet banking) is a secure integrated system that interacts with our tolling system directly and allows payment via your bank’s website. This allows your transaction to be completed in real time in a secure environment.
Does the credit in my toll account expire?
Toll account credit remains in an account until it is used for toll payment or it is refunded when the account is closed. It does not expire.
What happens if I sell my vehicle or buy a new one?
If you buy or sell a vehicle , you must ensure you’ve updated the registered person details to ensure tolls are assigned to the correct person. If you have an account , don’t forget to update your registration plate details.
