1. Rosebank Road citybound on-ramp weekend closure
8pm Friday 2 October to 5am Monday 5 October
As part of this traffic switch the Causeway Alliance needs to move the Rosebank Road citybound on-ramp, raise the area where the on-ramp was and construct motorway lanes across it.
The Rosebank Road on-ramp will be closed during a weekend so the Rosebank Road on-ramp connected to the new, raised section of motorway.
Please note that this is weather dependent and may happen the following weekend.

2. Rosebank Road citybound on-ramp diversion
Please note that the period the Rosebank Road on-ramp diversion is in place has been extended.
The diversion is planned to end 5am Monday 16 November.
The reason for the extension of time is a combination of adverse weather conditions and reduced asphalt availability.
At the end of the diversion we will have raised lanes one and two citybound onto the newly form section of the motorway.
We apologise for any inconvenience this extension may cause and thank you for your continued patience.
On-ramp diversion map

There are two reasons why the Rosebank Road on-ramp will be diverted through to Great North Road:
The difference between the newly raised level and the existing motorway level is too great to bring traffic from lane 1 down on to the motorway, and,There is insufficient “weave” distance near the Great North road off-ramp to enable vehicles in lane 1 to merge safely with vehicles in lane 2 – see the graphic below.
Temporary for 4 weeks from late September.
To help reduce disruption, these works have been timed to include the September/October school holiday period when traffic flows are lighter.
Construction on the required lanes will happen as quickly as possible so the motorway access can re-open and any disruption is kept to a minimum.
Detour options
During this time there will be a number of alternative options to enter the motorway. The best option will depend on the time of day and where you are travelling to and from.
