Where driveways intersect with a road a potential point of conflict between cyclists, pedestrians and motor vehicles exists.
Shared paths and separated cycleways are often located closer to the road boundary and therefore intervisibility between driveway users and cyclists can be decreased. Guidance (EVA PLEASE LINK TO THE DOCUMENT) for separated cycleways at side roads and driveways has been developed to help reduce the risk of conflict.
